Department of Pharmacy
Homoeopathic Pharmacy is a subject which comes in Ist BHMS course. It deals with the various sources of homoeopathic drugs, its preparation, preservation, standardization and related legislations.
Faculties of the department consist of a Professor, an Associate Professor / Reader and an Assistant Professor / Lecturer. Department also has a specimen collector. We have a well-equipped UG and PG laboratory with all necessary amenities required for UG and PG course. Our laboratory consists of modern instruments like succession machine, triturator, etc.
We also have a well maintained museum which consists of many wet, dry and framed specimens from vegetable, animal and chemical kingdoms. Department also maintains a herbal garden (green house) which consists of many medicinal plants which are found in our state and are used for the preparation of Homoeopathic medicine.
The department arranges a one day study tour to HOMCO, Alappuzha, a prestigious manufacturing unit of our state, which helps the students to understand clearly about the preparation, storage and standardization of homoeopathic medicines.

Certificate Course in Pharmacy – Homeo (CCP (Homoeo))
Government Homoeopathic Medical College conducts a one year Certificate Course in Pharmacy CCP (Homoeo), under Government of Kerala, which gives admission for 50 students on merit basis (50% marks in SSLC / equivalent exam). About 10% seats are reserved for departmental staff members. This institute maintains a separate classroom and a well-equipped laboratory and museum for this course. The HOD of pharmacy department is the course co-coordinator of CCP (Homoeo).
For each batch of CCO course 5 separate part time teachers are appointed for the subjects included under paper I to paper V. pharmacy students undergo training in theory, practical and are also posted for clinical training.
The students get 15 days training in HOMCO, Alappuzha and 15 days training in any Homoeopathic dispensaries / hospitals across Kerala which are under Directorate of Homoeopathy.
