Materia Medica is the backbone of Homoeopathy solely dealing with homoeopathic medicines. The Department of MateriaMedica functioning in Govt. Homoeopathic Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram conduct OP clinics from Monday to Saturday (08.00 am to 01.00 pm). An ENT special OP is attached on Monday, Wednesday & Saturday and a special Thyroid OP is on Tuesday.

SEMINAR - AI AND HOMOEOPATHY – A REPORT (conducted on 26/07/24)
A seminar based on the topic AI (Artificial intelligence and Homoeopathy) was conducted by the Department of Materia Medica on 26th July 2024.It was in line with rapidly changing landscape of technology and how we can utilise it to our benefit in the field of Homoeopathy. The seminar was taken by one of the modern stalwarts in the field of Homoeopathy , Dr Jawahar Shah who was kind enough to share his experiences in treating cases with use of Software’s based on AI which opened up a whole new possibility to the staff Pg’s and students present. He also shared some knowledge regarding how some remedies may be applied in various cases. He was awarded with a memento by Our Principal and controlling Officer Dr T.K Vijayan as a token of love and appreciation from the Institution. He also did the live demonstration of a new software integrated with AI and how it could detect the key emotions hiding in the background of a person and how it helps us in selecting the similimum. Towards the end there was an interactive session with live Q&A’s with the winners getting Hompath Software’s for free.
