National Youth Day was celebrated on Jan 12th NSS Volunteer Miss. Jyothika Mohan gave an introduction about the importance of observing National Youth Day. A quiz competition was held based on the life and contributions of Netaji. Aysha N. And Ashritha K. Menon became winners of the programme and gifts were distributed to them.

As part of Anti drug Campaign, Part II of Kerala Govt, our first outside campus programme was conducted at Kalady Govt. High School, Tvm on Jan 23rd of this year. Introductory speech was given by Principal in charge of the School, NSS Programme Officer and leader of NSS Volunteers. Then a spectacular talk against anti drug campaign was given by the NSS volunteer, Miss. Sneha Ignatius, who is also the winner of Elocution competition conducted by Govt. of Kerala against drug addiction. ‘SAY NO TO DRUGS’ Shoot out was inaugurated by Principal in charge of the Kalady School by shooting football. Then school children enjoyed shooting out saying “No to Drugs”. First BHMS NSS volunteers played a drug drama of 5 min duration against drug addiction. NSS Volunteer Miss. Greeshma said vote of thanks to the programme. Programme started at 9.30 am and ended at 12.30

In collaboration with BHUMI – Non profit organization, NSS GHMCT Unit conducted an Upcycling campaign on jan 26th, Republic Day to create awareness in Recycling used clothes, paper and plastic. NSS Volunteers and CCP students participated in the event. Based on the video played on the screen, Paper bags, Cloth bags and bird feeders were made by them. Programme started at 9.30 am and ended at 12.30

NSS Unit of GHMCT was formally inaugurated on Feb 1st NSS leader Miss.Jyothika Mohan welcomed the event. Principal and Controlling Officer Dr Betty presided over the function. NSS State Cell Officer, Anzer Sir delivered the keynote address and inaugurated the NSS Unit by lighting the lamp. NSS Advisory Committee member, DrBindu Pereiera S., (HOD, Depat of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology), Dr Preethe B. (HOD, Physiology & Biochemistry) and Miss. Jaisha J.U. (College Chairperson) externded their warm greetings. NSS leader Mr. Nandu J.Pradeep gave vote of thanks. Then there was a brilliant orientation class by the National speaker, Brahma Nayakam Sir (National Youth awardee 2000) who presented the goals of NSS in an interesting and touching way. The inaugural function was held between 1.30 and 5.30 pm.
